Research interests

Akanitt Jittmittraphap is a Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. She obtained her B.Sc. in Biology from Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand and completed her M.Sc. in Tropical Medicine in Mahidol University, Thailand.  She actively teaches at the Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine. Moreover, she conducts research in the field of virology and is also responsible for laboratory services.
Akaniit’s research specialization includes virology, diagnosis of viral diseases, and molecular biology of viruses. She has published a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals, which concentrate on virus diagnosis, viral pathogenesis, immunity to viral infection and molecular virology. Her research focuses on the emergence and re-emergence of viral zoonoses, especially dengue viruses as they have the potential to cause serious human health and economic impacts with their current upward trends likely to continue.
